The young Komsomolets Aleksey Komanov receives the task of the Revolutionary Committee to send warm clothes to Petrograd for the children's commune. Komanov is given as an assistant a certain Lykin, who has recommended himself as a mechanic, since it was necessary to establish a junk motor of a river tugboat.
