
Herman van Ulzen
Biography
Herman van Ulzen (* 1948 in Enschede, Netherlands; † December 2024 in Amsterdam, Netherlands) was a Dutch actor who was active primarily in the German-speaking world. Herman van Ulzen completed his acting training at the State University of Music and Theater in Heidelberg. Subsequently, he worked at numerous German-language theaters, including the Zimmertheater Heidelberg, the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, the Münchner Volkstheater, and the Comödie Dresden. From the mid-1970s onward, van Ulzen appeared regularly in film and television productions. He made his television debut in 1975 in the series *Autoverleih Pistulla*. He gained wider recognition through his recurring role in the crime series *Der Fahnder*, in which he appeared between 1985 and 1994. He made further appearances in productions such as *Hausmeister Krause* and, in 2020, in *Bibi & Tina – Die Serie*. Alongside his work in front of the camera, van Ulzen remained dedicated to the theater for many years and was regarded as a versatile character actor in both German television and on the stage.
